Langley Estate Water Garden | Langley, BC
Completed in 2010, this estate-scale water garden was designed as a defining landscape feature for the property, spanning approximately 175 feet in length and 65 feet in width.
The project incorporated multiple interconnected ponds, three distinct waterfalls, and a unique driveway crossing that allows visitors to travel directly through the heart of the water garden. Rather than treating the pond as a feature beside the landscape, the design made water an integral part of the arrival experience.
Careful grading, extensive natural stone placement, and mature planting were used to create the appearance of a landscape that had evolved naturally over time. The three waterfalls each provide a unique character and sound, helping to connect the various sections of the water garden while creating movement throughout the property.
More than a decade after construction, the project continues to demonstrate how thoughtfully designed water features mature within the landscape. From above, the ponds, waterfalls, planting beds, and surrounding trees have blended together to create a living ecosystem that feels established, timeless, and completely at home within the estate setting.
