Japanese Garden & Koi Pond | Abbotsford, BC

Completed in 2009, this Japanese-inspired garden was designed as a peaceful retreat where water, stone, and planting come together in balance.

At the heart of the garden is a koi pond surrounded by carefully selected natural stone, ornamental plantings, and meandering pathways that encourage visitors to slow down and experience the landscape from different perspectives. The pond provides a home for vibrant koi while reflecting the surrounding garden, creating a sense of depth and tranquility throughout the space.

Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese garden design, the project emphasizes harmony between natural elements rather than individual features competing for attention. Water flows gently through the garden, connecting stone, vegetation, and wildlife into a living landscape that changes with the seasons.

More than fifteen years after construction, the garden has matured into a richly layered environment where the original design intent remains intact. Mature plantings, established stonework, and thriving aquatic life have combined to create a landscape that feels timeless, peaceful, and deeply connected to nature.
